Too funny… This is why you should be able to distinguish “public money” (from fans…) and “smart money” (from savvy sports investors)!
My name is Joao and I built this blog to share with you everything I know about sports booking.
I’m Portuguese, so it’s natural that my favorite sport is soccer… Portugal is #3 in FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking and we have the best soccer player and manager in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho, respectively.
But I don’t just like soccer… A few years ago I started following several American sports, namely NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL. Unlike soccer, all the previous American sports allow very detailed statistical analysis…. Besides very complete teams stats you can also find dozens of player metrics that will provide you valuable information when you’re analyzing past, current and future games!
As I’m a sports lover and a statistical freak, it’s obvious that I got very interested in sports booking.
It all began 4 years ago. I started subscribing a NBA betting picks service that generated a lot of profit in just one season!
But I got greedy and didn’t care much about money management or what my goals were. So I started raising my betting units and following many other systems (without analyzing their performance in previous years…), hoping that I could get rich very quickly…
What was the result? Instead of getting rich quick, I lost one a half times the money that I had gained the year before. That was shocking… It could have been a lot worst. So in a way it was good because it made me stop (not quit…) for a while, until I was fully prepared to start again!
If you are a novice you should realize that sports booking won’t make you rich quickly. This is one of the first mistakes that novices do…
If you want to invest in sports booking you should do it like as if you were creating a start-up!
Before I begin you should really try to answer these questions:
- What are your goals?
- How much time will you dedicate to it?
- How much money will you invest?
- What is your expect return?
- What are your resources?
In my next post I’ll write about the most important aspects to succeed in sports booking.
